Bangkaewdog 's history A Thai Bangkaew
Dog was born at Wat Bangkaew Ban Bangkaew , Tambon
Thanang-ngam ( or Tambon Bangkaew formerly ) Amphoe
Bang-rakam Phitsanulok Province 100 years ago. Tah Nim,
a Bang Kaew villager gave a rather-big local black
female dog to Luang Puh Mak Metharee , the third abbot
of Wat Bang Kaew. Then one day she bred a puppy with a
wolf. These were the first origin of Thai Bangkaew dogs
breeding their generations to these days. Thai Bangkaew
dog are regarded as very precious heritage of
Phitsanulok Province. The dogs are fed widely in the
province, making high profit to the villagers. Nowadays,
Thai Bangkaew dogs become more famous nationwide and are
fed all over every part of Thailand. They are charming,
beautiful, clever, honest and loyal. It can be fed as
our friend, watch our house or be practiced as guardian
work. Although they are rather fierce, feeding them is
very simple. They are brave though their opponents are
bigger. One feeder told that his dog survived him after
being harmed by the thieves in 1993. At the Air Force
Division 46, 'Chao Keng' , Bangkaew dog of Niramon Group
can jump by a parachute at the height of 12,500 feet.
The Thai people have got this precious thing, let keep
and preserve it as our pet worldwide. From http://www.thai.net/phitsanulokweb/eng_activities.html | |

| Dogs
of Summer |
On sweltering days along tha Wang
Rae Cannal, which runs through several villages in the Bang Rakam
district of Phitsanulok, the water teems with able-bodied swimmers
of all shapes and sizes. They come for the same reason : a bit of
relief from heat. They are also on the lookout for food --- fish, in
fact, a staple of the villagers who live here. Those hoping to
cool off on the presence of sexy bikinis will be disappointed ---
the swimmer here wear noting at all. But since they are Bangkaew
Dog, one of Thailands most famous breeds, all is forgiven. They
love bathing, especially during the summer. After exhausting
themselves by running around and playing with their mates, the dog
dive into the canal and take a bath. After that they lie in the sun
until their hair is dry,Esaid Pratueng Kongcharoen, former headman
of Chum Saeng Song Kram village, through which the Wang Rae Canal
passes. http://bangkaew.com/webboard/view.php?No=381 |

 Also I
brought back a breeding pair of the "other" Thai dog from Thailand,
the Thai Bangkaew Dog. (TBD) The Bangkaew Dogs are from the
mid-region of Thailand. They too are a very old breed of dog inside
Thailand but are the first pair in America. More info will be found
soon on a new website that I will create for this "other" breed of
dog from Thailand. They are extremely popular now in Thailand as
also the Thai Ridgeback Dog is as well! |

| Foo,
the unwanted Bangkaew |
Strays turn over new leaf Jun
26, 2003 Foo, the unwanted Bangkaew Foo was
not originally a stray dog, but a pedigree Thai Bangkaew who once
stayed in a nice home with a kind owner. Unfortunately, because of
the characteristics of the Bangkaew which was bred to be a watchdog,
Foo at times turned vicious and bit neighbours. The owner had to pay
thousands of baht to Foo's victims. Eventually the owner ran out of
patience and gave Foo to the director general of the National Park,
Wildlife and Plant Varieties Department to take part in the guard
dogs programme. |
